Liz’s choice

This beautiful Art Deco style lustre ware jug was made at Govancroft Pottery in the east end of Glasgow in the 1950s.

I love the horizontal ribbing, the sponge pattern mottled in blue and pink, the clear lustre glaze and the gilding around the edges.

I'd be so pleased to have produced this lovely piece! I wonder whose home it was first bought for.
