Bells Pottery
c 1859
This piece has been hidden under the sea for 165 years. It returned to the banks of the Forth and Clyde canal in December last year, back to where it was made, in Bell’s Pottery in the late 1850’s.
It was discovered in a shipwreck in Lamlash Bay, you can see Arran from here. I love the poetic nature of this plate coming home to where it first created.
